Games2Win India has launched Gamecurry – billed as the world’s first global search engine for flash online games. “Similar to Google, the website uses proprietary search and crawl engines and about 1.5 lakh games have already been indexed,” according to Games2Win CEO Alok Kejriwal. A recent report from comScore found that 51% of the Asia-Pacific Internet population visited gaming sites in August 2008, spending an average of 87 minutes on the sites, and averaging 11.5 visits per visitor during the month.

According to statistics recently released by Korea Game Industry Agency, Korea accounted for just over a third of global online game sales last year. Revenue for the online gaming market in the Asia/Pacific region is expected to grow rapidly between 2008 and 2013 from US$5.8 billion in 2007 to reach US$21.1 billion in 2013, a CAGR of 20.6% according to this In-Stat report. MMORPGs remain the mainstream of Asia’s online gaming market.

According to a recent report by Ficci and Pricewaterhouse Coopers, the Indian gaming industry is projected to grow to from an estimated size of Rs2.7 billion in 2007 to Rs14 billion by 2012, ergo a cumulative growth of 39% over the next five years. [Via]

7Seas Technologies, a Hyderabad-based gaming company, has reportedly acquired Neodelight, the gaming division of Germany-based Neokolor GBR. With this buyout, 7Seas will get the full IP rights to the Neodelight brand, games, game engine and its website.
