Reliance Big Entertainment Acquires 75% In Willow TV
Reliance Big Entertainment has plans to spend $60 million to $70 million to acquire 75% of California-based Willow TV and expand its operations. It is not yet specified as to how much is for the acquisition, and how much is for expansion says the Wall Street Journal.
Claiming more than one million registered users, Willow TV is the world’s largest live streaming video site for cricket that, for a fee, gives subscribers the ability to watch almost any major cricket game live.
Willow TV is part of Reliance’s plans to bring South Asians in the U.S. and elsewhere cricket, movies and long-distance phone service through their computers and phones.
Reliance is also hunting for U.S. acquisitions in the mobile-content market, including game publishers and companies that distribute ringtones and wallpaper for cellphones.
