Print On Demand With Pothi.com
Borrowing a page from Lulu, comes Pothi.com, from Bangalore based Mudranik Technologies.
the site serves as an online self publishing platform that helps writers self publish their books in print without any upfront cost.
Authors can upload a soft copy of their book, which then gets listed in the online store at Pothi.com from where readers can order it. Pothi.com also takes care of the production and shipping of the book, with the profit is shared with the author. An online calculator, gives the authors an estimate of the cost price of the book.
According to the company, Pothi.com uses print on demand technology, where even a single copy of a book can be produced cost-effectively. Therefore, a book is produced only after an order has been placed eliminating the need to invest in printing a large number of copies. [Via]
