At a time when pink slips seem to be making their way around (even ASSOCHAM expects a 25% job cut post this Diwali), US based job search engine Simply Hired, has launched its Indian avtaar at Simplyhired.co.in
A meta search engine, SimplyHired, which has also launched Canadian, British Australian versions, claims to have over 7 million job listings worldwide. This includes the 1.5 million job postings relevant to the 4 countries they have just launched in which have been gathered from leading job boards, content Web sites, newspapers, organizations and company career pages from those four countries.
About.com counts SimplyHired among the top job sites, Time Magazine puts it as one of the “50 Coolest Websites 2005,” while BusinessWeek declared it as “Best of the Web” in 2006.
It appears to be rather innovative – for instance, they were the first to make use of LinkedIn’s API to develop the Who Do I Know™ feature to view their LinkedIn connections at each company alongside their job search results, not to mention the rather tongue-in-cheek SimplyFired.com.
The company has raised $17.7M in funding from News Corporation’s Fox Interactive Media, Foundation Capital, Garage Technology Ventures and individual investors. The company is privately held and is based in Mountain View, California.
I wonder how the Indian avtaar of the other job aggregator Recruit.net is doing.
