How The Mobile Instrument Vendors In India Stack Up
According to the latest ORG data, Samsung is the only prominent player to have increased its market share in the Indian mobile instrument market in the January-March period, going from 5.7% in January to 7% in March says the Business Standard. In the same period, Motorola India lost market share from 6.7% to 5.9%, while Sony Ericsson remained at the same level of 8.1%. Even Nokia lost market share in India from 72.3% to 69.5% between January and March.
That Samsung is becoming more aggressive is clear from its plans to double its turnover within two years, from the current 7% which would be driven by higher sales of its premium products like the first mousepad-fitted mobile and its ‘Soul’ range launched recently. Expect upto nine new models in the second quarter of 2008.
