Google Insights For Search Launches
Adding on to their already considerable Google Trends, Google has launched Google Insights for Search, which provides more flexibility and functionality for advertisers and marketers to understand search behavior, throwing in some other features like a world heat map to graphically display search volume and regional interest.
Keywords are weighted such that their top volume day is anchored at 100, and other days are represented as a relative percentage of that search volume.
As the AdWords Blog explains:
Like Google Trends, you can just type in a search term to see search volume patterns over time, as well as the top related and rising searches. You’ll also have the ability to compare search volume trends across multiple search terms, categories (commonly referred to as verticals), geographic regions, or specific time ranges.
The categories for instance allow you to narrow your analysis so that you get results that are closer to your search term.
