Coming Up – SearchWiki: Rank Your Searches On Google
Almost a year ago, Google unveiled an experimental feature that allows users to edit their search results. Now, it seems that Google is finally readying to roll out the feature with a new name: SearchWiki.
SearchWiki gives users the ability to move search results up if they think the result is more relevant, or hide results they don’t like, suggest their own, post comments and read other people’s comments.
As this video at Justin Hileman’s blog shows,
an up arrow and an X that appear next to search results, allow searchers to either promote the result, or banish them. This seems to be Google’s response to Mahalo, the human powered search engine with a dash of Digg thrown in.
SearchWiki is not available to all Google users yet.
