With the launch of the helpline portal help-line.rb.nic.in, President Pratibha Patil has brought Rashtrapati Bhavan closer to the common man. Not only will the portal allow citizens to register their grievances online and to petition the President directly, it would also allow track them to various ministries as well.

The Estonian Parliament approved a measure allowing citizens to vote by mobile phone in the next parliamentary elections in 2011. This is a step up from from Internet ballots that Estonians were allowed to cast in last year’s parliamentary vote.
