The monthly site traffic report from Vizisense for October is out. Here’s some highlights:
- India traffic to Facebook shot up 19.35% from last month. Orkut too increased by 4.03% while LinkedIn was up 3.70%. Orkut continues to get the highest number of unique visitors however.
- Shaadi showed a drop of 10.14% while BharatMatrimony increased by 6.17%.
- In search, Bing shot up 22.15% from last month, while Google was up 5.88%. Yahoo! was down 0.73%. This seems to reflect the trend worldwide.
- Recently, Gmail has edged over Yahoo! in the fight for the mailbox, and the gap seems to be growing with Gmail increasing 7.69% over Yahoo Mail’s 5.36%
- The holiday season probably accounted for the increased traffic in the Travel eCommerce and Airline sites categories, as also the increase in the B2C eCommerce category. The contest and gaming sites however showed a dip.
- Quickr and BookMyShow were the highest gainers with 62.21% and 44.22% respectively. Blame it on the festive season I guess.
