300 Million Users For BigAdda?
According to this article in Business Standard, BigAdda, is looking at over 300 million users for its ‘MobileAdda’ version for cell phones, on the back of newer applications, brand associations as well as activity-based initiatives on both its website and mobile platform. The company will also introduce activity-centric applications to encourage users to plan activity online, from movies to parties or even an event of regional interest. MobileAdda was launched on August 19 this year and has already witnessed 2,000 registrations per day. Reportedly, the BigAdda website sees 15,000 registrations per day.
I wonder how realistic the numbers are, and what timeline the company is looking at (or whether Business Standard got it wrong) – considering that the audience is primarily Indian, the current mobile subscribers market stands somewhere in the region of 260 million, while the number of GPRS connections are reportedly somewhere in the region of 38 million. Moreover, the every internet user base is about 45 million, with the active user base between 25 and 30 million.
Moreover, according to this:
By March 2008, Estimates suggest Facebook is nearing 75 million members very rapidly, as 250000+ people register daily.
While, this estimate (Nov 23, 2007) puts the total number of Facebook users at about 43 million, with 333,560 users from India.
