Zapak Launches Game CDs
Given the lukewarm response to the online version of its games, Zapak is releasing its games On CDs, hoping to drive traffic from there to its online platform.
Over 150,000 CDs across 47 titles in the action, adventure, sports and classic genre, priced between Rs 49 and Rs 99 have been launched with a revenue target of Rs 5 crore in the next three months.
The game CDs will be available in 3,000-4,000 retail outlets, including large format stores, across 77 cities in the country.
“The online business is lagging behind owing to issues like robust payment mechanisms and people’s reservation to pay online. However, online gaming segment continues to be the focus of the company,” Rohit Sharma, chief operating officer, Zapak Digital Entertainment told Business Standard.
