India Broadband Connections At 4.15 Million


According to figures released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, the number of broadband connections in the country has grown by 69 per cent at 4.15 million in May 2008, as compared to 2.46 million recorded a year ago. TRAI defines broadband as internet speed equal or greater than 256 Kbps download. [Via]
It will still need work to catch up to the projected 20 million subscribers by 2010.
There had been talk to change the definition of broadband to refer to speeds over 2Mbps - would how many subscribers that would leave us with.
