eBay Footprint Increasing In Smaller Indian Cities
Punjab has a large base of global trade sellers led by sellers from Amritsar and Ludhiana according to eBay which found that every 20 minutes, an item is sold internationally from Punjab. Out of 2 million registered users in India, eBay, which has 34% market share of e-trading in India, 2% users are from Punjab
“Punjab based sellers have sold over 7,500 sporting goods and over 8,000 pieces of apparel to global buyers so far,” according to e-Bay India, Head Global Trade, Amarjit Batra.
This is also indicative of a new trends in e-commerce - one of an increase in sellers from non metro cities selling globally through eBay India, with sellers from cities such as Shillong, Aizwal, Bakrol, Khanna and Khamaria on the rise. [Via]
