Japan Mobile Marketing Market Set To Double By 2011


According to a report entitled 21st Century Mobile Marketing - Insights into the World’s Most Advanced Mobile Society: Japan from Research and Markets the mobile marketing in Japan is currently valued at $620m, and slated to double by 2011.
Japan as a market is a pioneer in that a majority of the population uses mobile internet services, and where mobile marketing is fast evolving into a standard part of the marketing mix, a scenario soon to become reality in many other parts of the world as well.
In related news, Turkcell, Turkey’s GSM carrier, has launched TonlaKazan (Tone&Win), said to be the world’s first RingBack Tone mobile advertising platform. Turkcell customers win airtime or credits depending on the amount of time their callers listen to a branded RingBack Tone selected by the customer.
The introduction of new technologies are making, highly personalized and effective forms of marketing possible.
