Firefox Reaches 29% Share In Europe
No doubt at the cost of Internet Explorer, who’s market share seems to be treading a downward path, Firefox is gaining in usage, reaching 29% in Europe in March 2008, with Finland, Poland and Slovenia leading the pack at 45.9%, 44% and 43.7% respectively according to a XiTi Monitor report.
The report also notes that usage climbed to 30.1% on weekends when people is more likely accessing the web from their homes rather than work where company policies may override their personal preferences.
Globally, Firefox grew in all the continents and Oceania remains as the leader with 31.2% (almost flat compared to February 31.1%). Africa saw the greatest growth with a 3% increase month over month. More details on the report here.
I have been using Firefox 3 beta for some time now, and it is definitely an improvement - leaner, faster and crashes a lot less. I think it uses a lot less memory as well.
