Zapak To Create Games For Knight Riders
By creating online games around ShahRukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders, Zapak is probably hoping to do a Sony SetMax - the night ShahRukh’s Knight Riders demolished Vijay Mallya’s Royal Challengers in Bangalore, Sony SetMax catapulted to the number one channel in terms of viewership across all genres, including those of the saas bahu variety, during the peak time of 8pm to 11pm.
Sony TV-WSG has bought the broadcasting rights of the IPL matches for a staggering $1.3 billion (Rs 4120 crore) for 10 years, but has already earned over Rs 380 crore by selling advertising time in India and globally for the IPL matches this year.
Coming back to Zapak however, the deal in which Zapak is rumoured to be making an investment of 1 crore, will involve Zapak creating a cricket gaming zone on the official website of the Knight Riders. The portal has already gone live with two games, and plans to release 4-5 games over the next two weeks. These games would be free for download, and have an ad-supported model.
Now to see whether the Knight Riders can work their magic for Zapak as well.
