SoeAtlas.org - India’s Online State Of The Environmental Atlas

To mark Earth Day, the Environment Ministry has launched the first digital State of the Environmental atlas of India at Soeatlas.Org which provides a visual interactive interface for users to visualise environment spatial data using geographic information system (GIS) options. The atlas depicts forest and biodiversity in green, water resources in blue and air pollution in brown colours. As the site claims, the purpose of the atlas is to:

* Allow users to visualise dynamic thematic maps of India on green, blue and brown environment issues
* Meet the educational and research goals of all users
* Provide easy and convenient access to geo-spatial data
* Provide information in the Pressure – State – Impact – Response (PSIR) framework
* Regularly provide the public, government, non-government organisations and decision makers with accurate, timely and accessible information.
