apan Communications Inc plans to roll out the world’s first Internet Protocol mobile phones as early as July 2008 according to Reuters. The provider is considering charging a fixed monthly rate for its mobile phone service but not charging extra for users who make calls via Internet networks.
This comes at a time, when the market share for DoCoMo has dropped from 50.2% in February to 49.7% in March. Clearly, as users increase, the need shifts to segmentation, and innovation - something the players in our own market should take note of.
