First Internet Mobile Phone To Launch In Japan

Japan Communications Inc plans to roll out the world’s first Internet Protocol mobile phones as early as July 2008 according to Reuters. The provider is considering charging a fixed monthly rate for its mobile phone service but not charging extra for users who make calls via Internet networks.
This comes at a time, when the market share for DoCoMo has dropped from 50.2% in February to 49.7% in March. Clearly, as users increase, the need shifts to segmentation, and innovation - something the players in our own market should take note of.
