Yahoo! Acquires IndexTools - Intends To Make It Free
Buckling up further in its fight against Google, Yahoo! recently acquired enterprise-level web analytics service provider IndexTools, and as this post by Dennis Mortensen, COO of Index Tools, states, intends to open it for free use, starting with the existing clients and partners who accept the standard Yahoo! agreement.
This is similar to the move by Google when it released Analy
tics in November 2005, based on its acquired from Urchin and Microsoft adCenter Analytics which is based on Deep Matrix, that it acquired in 2006.
I wonder how this will change the analytics scenario, and what it means for the hotly debated Microsoft-Yahoo! deal. In the meantime, I’ll wait for Yahoo! to make it free for everyone.
