Startups - Resume2.0 with VisualCV
The CV, the site claims dates back to 1902, with the shortened form used in the United States and referred to as a resume adopted shortly after WW2.
Now the guys behind VisualCV want to make the traditional resume come alive with video, pictures a portfolio and other supporting documents. Informational pop-ups provide background data on the companies you’ve worked at and the colleges you’ve attended. You can choose to keep the VisualCV private, share it with a select group, or make it public on the Internet. Links to the pages can be sent to prospective employers and shared with firms that have pages on the site.
In short, this brings both the CV and the resume into the modern Web 2.0 world by transforming the way in which resume data is presented, accessed and shared.
Right now, it is free to create a Visual CV, but I wonder what the profit model would be going forward. This does seems like a wonderful way to present your profile, and headhunting firm Heidrick & Struggles and Valhalla Partners who chipped in with $5 million, seem to agree.
