MTNL Launches Mobile TV In Delhi

MTNL today announced the soft launch of its mobile TV service in the capital, which would allow its users to watch live television on their handsets, with the commercial launch expected in April.
Initially, MTNL would be offering 7 channels. The users would have to pay a minimum of Rs 50 per month to access five free channels on their mobile TV. For watching rest of the channels, they would have to pay accordingly for every channel.
MTNL has about 15 lakh users in Delhi out of which 25,000 use GPRS in their mobile phones. This service would require GPRS enabled handsets, supported by Symbian operating system with a minimum phone memory of 2 MB. [Via]
