Spelling further doom for employers in India who try to minimise poaching by blocking job portals on the company network comes this SMS based job search mobile application from Monster.com.
The application is simple and easy-to-use. Based on keywords and free text, you just need to type free text Jobs <keyword> for example “Jobs Product Manager Online” and SMS to 53030 in India, to receive the top three job matches back on the mobile as an SMS.
I tried giving a search for “Jobs Product Manager” and “Jobs Product Manager Online” and got some rather pertinent results. Given the growth in the number of mobile subscribers in India, such applications were bound to increase, but what is very refreshing is to see this emphasis on SMS based applications.
