A Site For All Parking Spots

This has definitely got to be one of the more useful applications of the web - no doubt seconded by thousands of Athenian drivers. Driver Yannis Pitsakis decided to channelise his frustrations in not being able to find a parking spot, and started a website which plays matchmaker with a difference - his Greek website www.parkaro.gr matches drivers to parking spaces offered by private citizens for rent or sale.
His Web site has taken off with some 1,000 hits a day, reports Reuters helping drivers in the ancient city of 5 million people who can spend up to an hour looking for a parking spot.
Now to see if accidents due to road rage come down.
