Caring.com - Helping You Help Your Parents
Adding to the recent emphasis on health related websites, a new website Caring.com, launched recently is aimed at offering information geared towards helping people care for aging parents.
Articles include tips on dealing with your parent’s healthcare, financial, legal (tops for drawing up a will), housing, and life issues written by professionals or other users.
Apart from that, the website also features a community area for people to share tips, a section where questions can be posed to various experts, and tools such as risk calculators to determine the chances an elderly family member falling, with tips on how to prevent it.
Given that an estimated 34 million Americans are caring for elderly parents, and another finding that 15 percent of caregivers live an hour or more away from the elderly family members, it is no wonder that Caring.com has managed to raise over $6 million in funding.
