No Interruptive Soaps, Only Commercials
Chennai-based PixelKraft Media Solutions has recently launched Indibiz.tv
an interactive online video directory that offers TV commercials of brands such as Airtel, Ford, Unilever, Nokia, Saint Gobain, Titan Watches, Wipro and Yamaha. The site aims to meet three objectives — recall, compare and respond.
Very Web 2.0 the video quality of the commercials is better than the ones that you find in YouTube, though consequently, the they take quite some time to download, effecting the experience. Perhaps two version (broadband and narrowband) would help.
The site however offers an opportunity to view commercials, download brochures and even interact with the companies. However with the tagline “No interruptive soaps, only commercials”, it remains to be seen how well it takes up.
Since the site is completely in Flash, there is no option for a permanent URL which would allow someone to email a partcular advertisement to someone, consequently it does not offer an opportunity for embedding the video on an external website, hence limiting the reach.
It would be good to have more details on what can be expected from the website, for instance the screen to allow contact with the advertiser, is subtle enough to get overlooked, and an opportunity for discussions on a particular commercial, reviews, etc.
