Video Searching on Mobile Phones Made Easier
A new solution vTap from Veveo, launching this September 10 promises to make searching for videos on your mobile easier. They have indexed a large collection of videos on the web and plan to solve the input constraints that are an inherent part of the mobile phone by providing increasingly specific search results as users type more letters into the search box on their mobile phone screens.
As their website puts it:
vTap—the quick and easy Web video solution that lets you search, browse and pinpoint the exact Web video you’re looking for—from sources all over the Internet—and play it on any supported device! With vTap’s unique character-based incremental search—where results are returned with every character entered—you can perform searches using just a few characters instead of whole keywords. It’s so easy, you’ll think it’s reading your mind.
The service will be available for all phones running Windows Mobile and it will also
provide an Ajax application for the iPhone. J2ME support will be available after a few weeks.
